The East Coast Zoological Foundation (ECZF) has welcomed a new Chief Financial Officer, David Lamadrid. This executive role adds to ECZF’s leadership team as the organization prepares to expand from its flagship campus, Brevard Zoo, to add a second campus, Bowen Aquarium, in Port Canaveral.
As CFO, Lamadrid will help guide financial strategy and capital planning to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of ECZF’s mission.
“Throughout my career, I have been drawn to organizations whose products or services improve the lives of people,” Lamadrid said. “That same value underpins my admiration for the role zoological institutions play in protecting biodiversity and fostering public engagement with the natural world.”
Lamadrid brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic financial leadership with a strong track record of developing and mentoring teams, improving operational efficiency, and guiding organizations through periods of growth and change. He also has non-profit governance experience, serving on the Board of Directors and as the Chairman of the Finance Committee for a non-profit organization providing lifespan services for individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs.
“I have enjoyed a lifelong appreciation for wildlife and the environment, which deepens my excitement for this opportunity to serve the ECZF,” Lamadrid shared.
